Tennessee’s Jon Boruff showed up with an old Honda CR 500 and pulled the holeshot to claim the $650 holeshot prize. From there, Yamaha mounted Tyler McSwain went to the front and seemed to have the race won until the third lap and he started fading. North Carolina’s Caleb Carter put his KTM into second and was charging. He pulled along side McSwain a couple of times but couldn’t make it stick. On the last lap in the bottom straight they were side by side and their bikes got together off the triple jump. They were both on the ground in an instant. Carter was running for his bike before it quit sliding and McSwain was down. Maryland’s Tyler Stepek (Suzuki) had been pacing them and seized the opportunity that was handed to him. With half a lap left he easily took the win and the winner’s $6,000.00 reward. Fellow Maryland rider Justin Rodbell (Yamaha) got by the crash to claim second. Carter got back underway to get third over North Carolina’s Michael McDade. A very memorable event in honor of the very memorable Cody & Chris Gragg.  Cody’s mother Lish was on the podium to present the winners trophy.
