Heated Pro Racing at the WNC Ag Center Produces Four Different Pro Winners

Fletcher, NC  –  The FMF Indoor Motocross Winters Series rolled into the WNC Ag Center for the last time this winter, but the racing was far from over. It’s getting toward the end of the series and points are even more valuable. After the weekend Mike Brown and Robbie Horton are tied in points in the 450 Pro class. In the 250 Pro class it’s Marshal Weltin with an 8 point advantage over Horton.

On Friday Marshal Weltin (Kaw) showed up with a new bike and showed everyone that he made the right choice as he took a convincing win. Horton (Hon) held off Brown (Husky) to take second. Florida’s Triston Lane (Yam) made his first appearance at the series claiming 4th. Behind him it was Cody Gragg (KTM), Chandler Lindsay (Hon), Tyler Chavis (Hon), and Kyle Dillin (Kaw).

Nathan Winegar (Kaw) holeshot the 450 Pro class and led 3 laps before Horton got around him. A lap later Brown moved into 2nd. At the half way mark Horton tangled with a lapper and went down giving Brown the win. Triston Lane took 2nd and Horton recovered to hold onto 3rd. Weltin got 4th over Chavis, Winegar, Taco Short, and Daniel Baker (KTM).

On Saturday night Brown got the holeshot in the 250 class with Horton in tow. Horton was faster through the whoops and got beside him a couple of times but couldn’t get by. On the 10th lap Horton set him up and cut an inside line taking the lead. They finished that way with Lane taking 3rd, Weltin was 4th, followed by Dillin, Chavis, Gragg, and Short.

The 450 Pro class was a Daniel Baker (KTM) show from start to finish. Brown got 2nd followed by Horton, Lane, Gragg, Chavis, Dillin, and Welton.

The final weekend of the FMF Indoor Motocross Winter Series is this weekend (Feb. 10-11, Friday & Saturday) at the Smoky Mountain Expo Arena at White Pine, TN.
